Living The Life Of A Lawyer Isn't A Piece Of Cake

Author: sheltonjessica

Not all lawyers are contemptible, like how they are portrayed in television or given reference in jokes. This Lethbridge woman, like most lawyers, does what she knows best to make a reasonable living. There are days when she does brood over not having chosen a simpler life, but most of the time she is just satisfied with how she lives now.

Among several women practicing law in Lethbridge, she has been a lawyer since 1985. The gold ring, which is the symbol of success, is still amiss, even when more and more women have finished law from universities in Canada. Women aren't as successful as men in terms of getting hired by law firms.

To add insult to injury, there is one more disadvantage to being a female lawyer. She states that female lawyers need to worry about marriage, having children and lifestyle every time. Quite obviously, she has approbation for female lawyers who could say yes to both. It's hard to live double lives.

The one thing men and women do share, however, is the financial downside in law profession. So many young people go to school with the expectation of quite a good life at the end. But they still have to find a job between the few competitive openings in order to pay their student loans.

It resulted to law being no longer as social and forthcoming like it was before. In addition, the mentor and training system was no longer in pace like in the old days. So that a lawyer could become a member of the Law Society, he must first complete four years at a law firm after graduating from the law university.

She also pointed out that twenty years ago, you wouldn't hear the same number of female criminal attorneys presently working at Lethbridge. According to her conclusion, the main reason why a lot of lawyers are attracted to this place is because they could practice law while seeing their children grow surrounded by a good environment. Wanting to return the favor to the community, a large number of lawyers joined forces with the boards and committees.

In order to own a part of the profits, lawyers working for big law firms give up their monthly income. This fast track to financial success, however, comes at a high personal cost including time not spent with family and failure to do other interests. A common misconception about high fees in law firms is due to the complaints of people who know nothing about dealing with professionals.

A large majority of people have health care and dental plans. They are not used to paying engineers, architects, or even school fees. Technically, it's not in their place to criticize professional fees.
She often participates in public talks with the local community college about the legal education programs; she is also a part of the Lawyers Referral Program. In case you have a criminal or civil case, you could simply apply for a legal aid and have a lawyer to help you.
